Singapore Airlines is still regarded as one of the finest airlines on the planet, and deservedly so. It’s never made a loss in its history, runs entirely as a viable business though technically state owned – it’s entirely self supporting. it often pioneers new aircraft types and new cabin product and its reputation of treating its customers as well its staff well is second to none. It isn’t perfect but most airlines would like to be half of what Singapore Airlines has become. And this year is their 50th Birthday.

And to say they’ve decided to do it with a livery that’s eye catching would be an official understatement!

So who do we think will be first to market with this one? JC Wings? I dislike their A380 mould, its the worst by far of the 1:400’s. Then there is of course Phoenix – I’ll let you know what I think about their A380 mould when one arrives this week. Strangely enough with no Witty (whose A380 was the ultimate, see through engines, outstanding quality). Gemini? The last A380 they did was the Etihad in 2014 so I’d put this up on their list and it would probably be my choice – the Etihad was excellent even if the mould isn’t perfect.

Edit: JC Wings have announced both a 1:400 and 1:200 of this model on June 1st.
