After what seems to have been the longest model drought since time began, April should start to show some new arrivals.
I won’t buy direct from Velocity because it’s just too expensive and I’m not entirely sure they’ll be around long enough, so I got my jetBlue A320 Blueberries from an official retailer who actually had one in stock (besides the combination postage was 40% cheaper than USPS and twice as fast).
In the same shipment I also managed to get one of the last Phoenix release ANA Cargo “Okinawa” 767-300FER that were not sold in the UK. Along with that a JC Wings Air France A320 – this is one I’ve been after for ages as I didn’t have anything in the Skyteam livery.
Mid month we all start to see the rush of Phoenix orders arrive – so far the Silkway 748F, Virgin Atlantic A346 and Azerbaijan 788 are on order. Will the A346 match the very successful paint of the 787-9? It’s the one big question that will make or break this model.
And last but not least, having disposed of the old, old livery A320 Austrian in StarAlliance colours it’s been replaced by one of the few smaller Austrian aircraft available in the standard livery – the Dash-8. These fly into BHX quite regularly on loan to Brussells Airlines but still in Austrian livery (there’s no direct BHX-VIE). As the Austrians have now dumped the lovely sky blue colouring in the new livery (a dire mistake I think) this is a welcome addition.
So far that’s 7 for April. Easter is a LONG holiday here and thing slow down big time so let’s hope not too much is delayed. The Austrian should be here before Easter weekend!
